WHAT WE DO?

Programmatic Lines

We work to strengthen civic, educational, and labor trajectories by promoting skills that allow them to develop fully and contribute to a more democratic and inclusive society.

Educational Completion

We work to strengthen the educational trajectories of young people so that they can sustain, continue, and complete their secondary and higher education.

At Conciencia, we understand that school dropout and interruption of higher education are not only due to economic factors, but also to social, cultural, and individual conditions.
Therefore, in addition to financial support, we work on developing skills through a support system that includes individual tutoring and group workshops in Life Skills, which strengthen confidence, motivation, and the skills necessary to face academic and personal challenges.

Training and Labor Intermediation

We provide young people with tools to connect with the world of work

Youth employment in Argentina is going through a critical situation: the unemployment rate in young people from 14 to 29 years old reaches 13.1%, almost triple the 4.5% recorded in the adult population from 30 to 64 years old. Added to this is a strong inequality in access to quality jobs: during the first quarter of 2024, 60% of employed young people worked in the informal sector, compared to 42.2% of adults.
Faced with this scenario, at Conciencia we train young people to strengthen their opportunities for labor inclusion and professional development, promoting meaningful learning that responds to the challenges of today’s world of work. Our programs articulate transversal, technical, and strategic skills, and are based on a situated perspective, which recognizes life trajectories, territorial and cultural contexts, and the need to generate real conditions of employability and autonomy. In addition to technical training, complementary content is addressed, such as financial education, CV preparation, preparation for job interviews, and job search on digital portals, among others.

Entrepreneurship

We strengthen the entrepreneurial skills of the participants so that they can transform their dreams into sustainable businesses.

7 out of 10 micro-enterprises close before 8 years and 2 out of 10 fail to overcome the first 2 years of life. That is why we promote a comprehensive strategy whose objective is to provide entrepreneurs with concrete tools to improve the sustainability, organization, and commercialization of their projects, enhancing their possibilities of growth and permanence over time. The entrepreneurship programs develop a device that articulates group training, personalized mentoring, territorial work in networks and, in some projects, access to seed capital.

Strengthening Grassroots Social Organizations

We accompany Grassroots Social Organizations to enhance the impact on their community

Grassroots social organizations are vital spaces for community life in the most vulnerable neighborhoods of the country. At Conciencia we work to strengthen the role of these organizations and their leaders through specific training in Management Excellence, the allocation of seed capital, the management of donations, and the organization of corporate volunteer activities.
The training addresses key areas for more efficient and sustainable management, such as the design and implementation of projects, institutional formalization, budget administration, fundraising, and the development of digital communication strategies, among others.

Access to Rights of Children and Adolescents in Rural Areas

We guarantee access to essential rights for children and adolescents in rural contexts.

Living conditions in rural areas are significantly more difficult for a large part of its population: greater overcrowding in homes, less access to basic services, and more limited opportunities. These factors, among others, explain why the rates of early school dropout and child labor—closely interrelated phenomena—are considerably higher than in urban contexts.
At Conciencia we develop a comprehensive approach that seeks to combat child labor and guarantee educational continuity through different devices: The implementation of Summer Centers that contain children and adolescents during the development of the tobacco harvest, a time when schools are on summer recess, thus reducing the risk of Child Labor; the Comprehensive Support of families throughout the year; the strengthening of school spaces; the allocation of scholarships but the educational completion of secondary level and the training of workers.

Training for the Active Exercise of Citizenship

We train democratic citizens who get involved and transform from action.

Through educational and training proposals, we promote spaces that favor the construction of citizenship from a plural, inclusive, and federal perspective. This line articulates experiences that strengthen both the knowledge of rights and duties and the development of skills for dialogue, deliberation, and collective decision-making, understanding that citizenship is learned by exercising it in meaningful and participatory contexts. The programs work on strengthening civic competencies through the methodologies of Role Playing and Project-Based Learning, two of the active methodologies most used in the field of educational innovation

Allies

We support local development by promoting collaboration between communities, civil society, the public sector, the private sector, and international organizations. We believe that true change comes from collective construction.
